Wayne Falk Honored in Brant

At the Brant Town Board meeting that was held on Tuesday, February 14, the Board proclaimed Saturday, February 18, 2006 as Wayne Falk Day in Brant to honor Brant’s retiring Chief of Police.

Hired in 1976, Wayne Flak worked as a patrol officer until 1984 when he was promoted to Chief of Police. "Throughout his career, Wayne unselfishly gave of himself to his community," said Supervisor Leonard Pero, "he will be missed. We only hope the new guy will be at least 1/2 as good as Wayne."

In his retirement, Falk continues to be an Administrative Advisor to the Town Board.

Together We Can Make a Difference

The fund raising thermometer is rising.

The Friends of the Village, Inc. are pleased to present the Angola Public Library with a check for the sum of $1500 that was raised for through their raffle of the 2 lap quilts made by Donna Wilson.

The original intent of the Friends of the Village, Inc. was to match their previous donation of $750. With the cooperation of the library staff, Mary Truby in particular, generous donors, supporters of the Christmas in the Village "Book Nook", volunteer ticket sellers as well as countless quilt raffle participants, the Friends were able to exceed their own expectations!

"In keeping with our motto – "Working together to make a difference," we do hope this donation will help make a difference for you and your current fund drive," said Maria Carlson, President of the Friends of the Village, Inc.
